The Fan Art Sketch Series was created in 2020 while I was living in London, at a turning point in my artistic journey. It all started with a quick 30-minute sketch of Deku from My Hero Academia. The rough, unfinished look of that drawing felt so alive that I decided to expand it into an entire series.
Each piece in this collection was an opportunity to explore cross-hatching techniques and embrace a rawer style of art — one that values energy, imperfection, and process over polish. These sketches capture beloved anime characters with bold lines, expressive shading, and a textured quality that makes them stand out from traditional fan art.
